Winetopia Turns 10 – Here’s What’s in Store for Auckland!

We’ve got some big news to share – Winetopia Auckland is celebrating its 10th year! This October 3 & 4, the Viaduct Events Centre will once again come alive with the sounds of clinking glasses, live music, and the buzz of thousands of wine lovers discovering new favourites.
A Stellar Line-Up of Wineries
Fifty incredible winery teams are heading to Auckland for the celebration, from Central Otago’s Quartz Reef and Amisfield to Hawke’s Bay icons Trinity Hill and Mills Reef, Marlborough legends Greywacke and Fromm, and Wairarapa favourites Escarpment and Palliser. Waiheke is well represented too, with Casito Miro and Obsidian in the mix. You’ll even find a taste of France, Italy and Argentina among the pours this year.
Entertainment with a Twist
On the Main Stage, comedian and TV presenter Ben Hurley will keep the laughs flowing while hosting a full schedule of tastings and talks. The crowd-favourite Wine Battles return, where two winemakers go head-to-head with their best bottles – and the audience decides who takes the glory.
Celebrity Guests to Share a Glass With
Foodies will be thrilled to see Chef Josh Emett sharing a glass of his favourite wine on Saturday afternoon, while rugby legend Sir John Kirwan will be joining us Friday night with his daughter Francesca and the family’s JK14 wine range.
And don’t miss beloved duo Kasey & Kārena Bird delivering a series of delicious seafood and wine matching masterclasses alongside Tohu Wines.
Learn, Taste & Indulge
Wine writer Joelle Thomson will be running special 10 Years Young Masterclasses featuring stand-out wines from 2016. And if food is your love language, you’ll want to arrive early for sessions from Tacoteca, The Wine Room by David Nash, and Tempero. Plus, you’ll be able to feast on plates from Spiga, Hazy Tiger, Nanam, and for Premium Ticket holders – a special treat from Little Culprit.

Music, Weekends & More
Of course, it wouldn’t be Winetopia without great live music. Two Many Chiefs kick things off on Friday, with Mischief the Band keeping the vibe strong on Saturday.
