Flying the flag for South Australian wine at the event is esteemed wine journalist, educator, wine judge, and official patron of the South Australian Wine Ambassadors Club, Tony Love.
Tony said, “South Australia’s wine makers are among the most innovative in the world, creating world-class styles from its famed traditional varieties like Shiraz, Cabernet, and Grenache, and now forging a new generation of wines from a wide range of regionally adaptive and climate-suitable Mediterranean and Iberian varieties.”
Tony will be providing educational masterclasses, while representing the South Australian wine sector. Tony continued, “I’m really proud to celebrate our impressive history and introduce Winetopia guests to the exciting future of South Australian wine.

Tony Love is a South Australian-based freelance professional wine reviewer, writer and editorial content creator for a range of print and online mastheads. Tony is also the official Patron of the South Australian Wine Ambassadors Club alongside James Halliday AM.
He has been published in the Halliday Wine Companion and Halliday Magazine, Wine Business Magazine, Winepilot.com, and currently is the wine writer for InDaily/InReview and SALife. He also provides specialist consulting and content to regional and national authorities, corporate entities, and a range of other travel and lifestyle platforms.
He also is a regular senior judge at regional and capital city wine shows, in the past year in the role as Provenance judge at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show and also Chair of Judges at the McLaren Vale Wine Awards. He has been a career journalist and editor in newspaper, magazine and the book industries Australia-wide, covering lifestyle content areas ranging from outback history and discovery, arts and culture to focusing in the past 20 years on food and wine content.
He held the roles of Features editor, Opinion Pages Editor, senior restaurant reviewer, Taste section editor, and wine writer at The Advertiser, as well as national wine industry editor and writer for NewsCorp’s Australian daily mastheads until late 2018. He was named 2018 Legend of the Vine (SA) by the Wine Communicators of Australia.
