Ten Years Young

We came up with the idea for Winetopia over a decade ago, with a simple goal of giving people the opportunity to explore the very best of the incredible New Zealand wine scene in one place. All regions, all varietals, the best of the best.

It’s been a wild ride. We remain thankful that so many of the best wineries in the country shared our vision and backed us during those early years of development. The first Winetopia event took place in 2016 and since then we have staged 20 Winetopia events across Winetopia, Christchurch and this will be our 10th Winetopia Auckland event.

Our mission has always been to try and create “the greatest celebration of New Zealand Wine” and to do this properly, we knew the event and brand had to match the incredibly high standard that so many of our top wineries aspired to. Professional event venues, world class presenters, a thoughtful balance of fun and serious wine exploration.

We’ve featured most of the best wineries and wines in the country through the event, hosted a plethora of local and international wine experts, held wine battles, blind tastings and celebrity appearances. We installed a Wine Art exhibition, offered masterclasses with some of the most expensive wines in the county and installed fabulous pop-up restaurants. We’ve served Champagne jellies, taught the act of sabrage and entertained many thousands of wine lovers. All in the hope that more people, like ourselves will find a little joy in discovering the magical nature of a good wine produced and nurtured by nature and a few passionate souls.

We want our 10th Winetopia Auckland event to be special. More great wine, delicious food, the best entertainment, a much-improved Premium Lounge, an avalanche of give-aways, some fun surprises and fantastic live music at the end of every session. Oh, and we’ve built an app that will mean you get a record of all the wines you have tried on the day - so you can continue your wine discovery journey after the event armed with the knowledge of what you enjoyed most.

Ten years young, and we’re just getting started.
